Espionage

Espionage uses spies to spy on other player's settlements. This allows you to gain information about buildings, resources and the units of the settlement, which can simplify attack planning. Whereby the player has the choice between a normal espionage attack and the slower but invisible creeping espionage.

Start espionage

When starting an attack, a player can choose between two types (normal and creeping). Normal espionage can be started via the normal attack command. Creeping espionage can be started via a special espionage button.
If a player decides on using a normal espionage attack, then the opponent is immediately visible. Additionally the attacked player receives reports, like during a normal attack.

If a player selects the creeping espionage attack, the attack is invisible to the opponent. This means that he will not get any information when the spies arrive and he will never receive a report. As the spy will be especially careful, his movement speed will be clearly slowed down on the map.

Calculation

During an espionage attack the ratio of attack spies and defending spies is calculated. From that the value the amount of surviving troops is calculated. The defender will never lose units. At the end, all spies return to their home town. The espionage type and the amount of surviving, attacking spies determines the information that the settler receives.

Conquer

After the battle, the information that the attacking player receives is checked. Thereby the following espionage types are relevant again:

During a normal espionage attack, spies can receive the following information:

• enemy troops & morale
• enemy resources
• buildings and their expansion levels
• troops outside the settlement

During a creeping espionage attack the following information is available:

• enemy troops & morale
• enemy resources
• buildings and their expansion levels
