Settlements
In KingsAge, the main game element are settlements. Every settlement has its own unique position on the map, which is identified by the coordinates that it has. Additionally, each settlement has its own name and a ruling player. If the settlement does not have an owner, it will be classed as an abandoned settlement. If a player is unhappy with the name of his settlement, he can rename it.
A settlement contains the buildings that allow the player to carry out particular actions. Resources are produced, settlers are made available and military units are trained and researched. This allows for settlements to be fought and conquered. With the extension of a settlement, its points and realm of power increase, which makes them more powerful and more difficult to conquer.
Bonus settlements
Some settlements are so-called bonus settlements. A 'Master', who has special skills and gives the settlement a certain bonus, presides over these settlements. Each settlement can only have one bonus.
- 10% more wood
- 10% more stone
- 10% more ore
- 10% more settlers
- 10% faster troop training
- 3% more raw material production
Abandoned settlement
Sporadic parts of the world contain abandoned settlements. These settlements once belonged to players whose accounts became inactive. Thus the settlements were forgotten and occupied by robbers.
Abandoned settlements are like normal settlements, except they are controlled by robbers and not by players. Robbers continue to develop the settlements, build buildings and units and increase their maximum number of points.
